Most lawyers are set up in under five minutes. Here is the whole path from install to your first reminder.
1. Install the app
Install the Digital Munshi Android app on any Android 10+ phone, or open the web app on a laptop. See Download.
2. Choose your language
The first screen asks for English, اردو or Roman Urdu. This sets the interface language only — you can always speak in Urdu, Punjabi, English or a mix. Change it later in More → Language & look.
3. Sign in
Choose Continue with Google or Continue with phone. With phone, the Pakistan code (+92) is pre-filled and a 6-digit code arrives on WhatsApp (or SMS if you prefer). There is no password to remember.
4. Set up in three steps
- About you — name and title (Advocate, Advocate High Court, Advocate Supreme Court). The title appears on your cause list and WhatsApp brief.
- Where you practise — city and the courts you appear in. This helps Munshi map words like "kachehri" or "sessions" to the right court.
- Your practice — practice areas and whether you work solo or in a chamber.
5. Allow the microphone and reminders
Munshi explains why before Android asks. The mic is used only when you press it. Turn on hearing reminders and, if you like, the WhatsApp evening brief (default 6:00 PM).
6. Add your first case
Tap the mic in the middle of the tab bar and say, for example:
"Bashir walad Usman ka case kal Court 5 Kachehri mein 10 bajay hai. Chori ka case, 379 PPC. Zamanat ki darkhwast deni hai."
Check the draft — amber fields need a look — and tap Approve & save. You will see the reminders that were scheduled.
