What does Munshi mean? منشی

A munshi is a lawyer’s clerk — the person who keeps the case register, tracks dates, files papers and collects the next dates from courts.

Many litigators dictate their day’s hearings to their munshi, who writes them in a register and hands over a list for the next day after court closes.

Digital Munshi is named after this role: the app aims to help the clerk keep a better register, not to replace him.
